Who We Are?

A4WP/PMA is an independently operated association dedicated to building a global wireless charging ecosystem based on best in class inductive and resonant wireless charging technology. This unified standards body creates a single organization that will allow for operational efficiencies with certification, regulatory, marketing, and roadmap development, while also supporting best in class inductive, resonant and multi-mode solutions, for a strong roadmap that will deliver an unparalleled, seamless experience for consumers.

A4WP/PMA membership is made up of more than 170 leading technology and consumer electronics companies, including board of directors AT&T, Broadcom, Flextronics, Gill Electronics, Integrated Device Technologies, Intel, MediaTek, Powermat Technologies, Procter & Gamble, Qualcomm, Samsung Electronics, Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Starbucks and WiTricity.

A: On June 1, 2015, A4WP and PMA boards of directors voted to approve the merger of the two organizations. The new organization has retained key leaders and contributors including president, board chair, and committee chairs. The merger between A4WP and PMA shows the industry coalescing around a primary standards body adopted by the world leaders in computing and telecom.

A: As of today the new name is under review. It will be announced in the very near future. In the interim the new merged organization will be referred to as A4WP/PMA.

A: A4WP/PMA is the leading industry organization in wireless charging with a focus on bringing a diverse base of interoperable products to the global market for both inductive and resonant solutions. Resulting from the merger of two leading associations, the new organization’s mission is to unify the industry and accelerate the advancement and commercialization of consumer-friendly wireless charging.

A: A4WP/PMA is focused on delivering the best wireless charging experience to consumers for mobile devices from wearables and mobile phones, to tablets and notebook computers, based upon the most mature and innovative technology standard. A4WP/PMA is the only standards body that has solutions to support the full range of devices.
